とても潔かったなーと思う。もともとここのところのアメリカの選挙は、ブルーステイツとレッドステイツではないけれども、とても分裂気味で、支持が真っ二つに割れる傾向が強くて、そのことにアメリカの政治家は強い、、、なんというのかな？嫌悪感というか、それはだめだ、という意見が強い。というのは、アメリカは南北戦争で（って異様に古くなるが）、国家がの分裂が激しい伝統があり、しかも公民権運動などの国の分裂傾向が強まるような歴史的イベントを何度も経験しているだけに、分裂があまりに深刻になると、それを回避すべきだという統合への機運がとても強まるんだよね。上院議員に当選したヒラリー・クリントンの演説やＣＮＮのラリーキングのトークを今でもよく覚えているが、、、たしかブッシュ大統領が当選した時で、国が分裂する機運にはコミットしないと何度も明言していたのを思い出す。
